Growing up, I’ve been really shy

That I always sat at the back of the back

Silently looking at people passing by

Thinking, when will I be in track?

Then you came with a smile

Offering your hand for me to hold

Slowly I left my spot behind

With your hold, my future is bold

I gained confidence and self-esteem

Built friendships and found new friends

I have what I thought I couldn’t have

And this smile I thought I don’t have

You have been my ray of light

A true blessing from up above

Thank you my friend for coming by

And cracking this pupa to a butterfly.
